SELECTED FOR THE BI ARM OF SERVICE, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF HORSE BREAKER (093). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON MAY 14, 1946 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. COMPLETED HIS TOUR OF DUTY ENGAGED IN TRAINING HORSES WITH THE HEADQUARTERS AND HEADQUARTERS DETACHMENT OF A UNIT IN THE TERRITORY OF HAWAII. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE FIRST CLASS ON JANUARY 12, 1947 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
