Activity During WWII

ENTERED THE U.S. ARMY AIR FORCE ON NOVEMBER 24, 1942. TRAINED AS A RADIO OPERATOR MECHANIC SCHOOL AT SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA. CADET TRAINING AS A NAVIGATOR AT ELLINGTON FIELD, TEXAS GRADUATED AS A 2ND LIEUTENANT. ASSIGNED TO A B-24 CREW AND SERVED IN THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS WITH THE 2ND AIR DIVISION, 93RD BOMB GROUP, 328TH SQUADRON. FLEW 16 COMBAT MISSION OVER GERMANY TO INCLUDE TARGETS IN BERLIN, MAGDEBURG, WILHELMSHAVEN, PEENEMUNDE AND SCHWINEMUNDE. AWARDED THE AIR MEDAL AND THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN SERVICE MEDAL. RETIRED FROM THE AIR FORCE AS A LIEUTENANT COLONEL.
