SERVED IN THE PACIFIC. SHIP's COOK 2ND CLASS. ENLISTED IN THE U.S. NAVY OCTOBER 26, 1943. HONORABLY DISCHARGED MARCH 17, 1946. SERVED ON LSC (L) 3-8 LANDING CRAFT FOR VEHICLES, PERSONNEL AND SUPPLIES WHICH SUPPORTED THE TROOPS LANDING AT CORREGIDOR AND BATAAN. WITNESSED GENERAL DOUGLAS MACARTHUR WADING ASHORE WITH HIS MEN. PARTICIPATED IN 9 ASSAULT WAVES AND THE CHINE-KOREA OCCUPATIONS. AWARDS INCLUDE THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 3 BRONZE BATTLE STARS, NAVY OCCUPATION SERVICE MEDAL WITH ASIA CLASP, CHINA SERVICE MEDAL, HONORABLE SERVICE LAPEL PIN AND THE NAVY HONORABLE DISCHARGE BUTTON. HE IS ENTITLED TO THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION RIBBON WITH BRONZE BATTLE STAR AND THE PHILIPPINE PRESIDENTIAL UNIT CITATION.
