He served in Company F, 385th Infantry, 76th Infantry Division as part of General George S Patton's Third Army. He was a part of the Battle of the Bulge, and was involved in the campaigns of Central Europe, Ardennes, and Rhineland. He received the Combat Infantry Badge as well as the American Campaign Medal, Eame Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and World War 2 Victory Medal.
