SERVED IN FRANCE, BELGIUM, LUXEMBOURG, GERMANY AS A PLATOON SERGEANT FROM THE BATTLE OF THE BULGE PAST THE ELBE RIVER MEETING WITH THE RUSSIAN ARMY IN BERLIN. LIBERATED THE BUCHENWALD CONCENTRATION CAMP, WEIMAR, GERMANY ON APRIL 11, 1945 PROVIDING TO APPROXIMATELY 20,000 STARVING PEOPLE, FREEDOM, CLOTHING, FOOD AND MEDICAL HELP. AWARDS: BRONZE STAR, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN MEDAL WITH 4 BATTLE STARS, WWII VICTORY MEDAL, DISTINGUISHED UNIT BADGE, SMALL ARMS EXPERT MARKSMANSHIP RIBBON. QUALIFIED EXPERT ON THE THOMPSON SUB MACHINE GUN.
