AFTER HIS SERVICE IN DEFENSE OF THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN, HE DEPLOYED TO THE EUROPEAN THEATER. AS A MEMBER OF THE 743RD TANK BATTALION, HE WORKED WITH AMPHIBIOUS TANKS UNTIL HE WAS LOST AT NORMANDY DURING THE ALLIED LANDINGS ON D-DAY.
