COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AND FURTHER TRAINING AT CAMP PERRY, VIRGINIA AND AT TERMINAL ISLAND, CALIFORNIA. SERVED ABOARD THE ATTACK TRANSPORTS USS KENTON APA-122 AND THE USS BANDERA APA-131. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE BATTLE STAR, WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A CHIEF CARPENTER’S MATE ON DECEMBER 8, 1945 AT NAVAL PERSONNEL SEPARATION CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS.
