SERGEANT. SERVICE NUMBER 35-558-260, SERVED IN THE ARMY OF THE U.S. AND ASSIGNED TO THE U.S. ARMY AIR CORPS. HE WAS INDUCTED ON JULY 7, 1943 AND ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE ON JULY 21, 1943 AT FORT BENJAMIN HARRISON, INDIANA. COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, WITH A MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY (885) SUPPLY CLERK AND QUALIFIED AS A RIFLE MARKSMAN AND WAS ASSIGNED TO THE 885TH AIR BASE ENGINEERS AT BRADLEY FIELD, CONNECTICUT. ON MARCH 9, 1944 HE WAS SENT TO THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC AREA AT SALUA AIRFIELD, INDIA WITH THE 58TH BOMB WING SUPPORTING THE B-29 BOMBER AIR RAIDS OF JAPAN. HE WAS LATER ASSIGNED WHEN THE 58TH AND 313TH BOMB WINGS WERE MERGED ON TINIAN ISLAND IN THE MARIANA ISLANDS WITH HEADQUARTERS AND BASE SERVICE SQUADRON 25TH AIR SERVICE GROUP, 58TH BOMB WING. HIS SERVICE INCLUDED THE AIR OFFENSIVE JAPAN BATTLE CAMPAIGN. DECORATIONS INCLUDE THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH ONE BRONZE STAR, WWII VICTORY MEDAL, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, OVERSEAS AND ARMY SERVICE RIBBONS. HE WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED AND SEPARATED FROM ACTIVE SERVICE ON JANUARY 11, 1946 AT CAMP ATTERBURY, INDIANA.
