COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING STATION, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS, WITH FURTHER TRAINING AT THE ARMED GUARD SCHOOL, GULFPORT, MISSISSIPPI. ASSIGNED IN TURN TO THE ARMED GUARD CENTER, BROOKLYN, NEW YORK; THE SS SAMUEL T. DARLING; NAVY 3142, MANILA, PHILIPPINES; THE SS ARTHUR ST. CLAIRE; NAVAL AIR STATION, SAINT LOUIS, MISSOURI; AND THE USS YDG-8 (DEGAUSSING SHIP). EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A SEAMAN FIRST CLASS ON JUNE 14, 1946 AT THE NAVAL PERSONNEL SEPARATION CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS.
