ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON MARCH 1, 1945 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE QUARTERMASTER CORPS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND EVENTUALLY QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF LABOR FOREMAN (356). DEPARTED THE U.S. ON AUGUST 22, 1945 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 333RD QUARTERMASTER BATTALION. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A CORPORAL ON DECEMBER 16, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS.
