ENLISTED AND ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE ON FEBRUARY 15, 1943. SELECTED FOR THE AIR CORPS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF MILITARY POLICEMAN (677). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON FEBRUARY 14, 1944 BOUND FOR ENGLAND. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 3702ND ARMY AIR FORCES BASE UNIT AND PARTICIPATED IN THE NORTHERN FRANCE, RHINELAND AND CENTRAL EUROPE CAMPAIGNS. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 3 BRONZE BATTLE STARS AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE FIRST CLASS ON OCTOBER 25, 1945 AT THE SEPARATION BASE, LOWERY FIELD, COLORADO.
