SERVED IN THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC THEATER. A PEARL HARBOR SURVIVOR. STATIONED AS A PRIVATE AT THE NAVAL AIR STATION AT KANEOHE BAY, HAWAII AT THE TIME OF THE JAPANESE SURPRISE ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR ON DECEMBER 7, 1941. AS HIS FIELD WAS BEING BOMBED AND STRAFED, HE TOOK COVER IN A PARTIALLY-CONSTRUCTED GUARD TOWER. LATER WAS STRAFED BY ATTACKING AIRCRAFT WHILE MOVING BY VEHICLE TO DAMAGED AREAS OF THE BASE. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AFTER THE WAR AND ISSUED THE HONORABLE SERVICE LAPEL BUTTON.
