ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON FEBRUARY 7, 1945 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE ARMY AIR FORCES, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF SUPPLY CLERK (835). DEPARTED THE U.S. ON AUGUST 10, 1945 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH 544TH BASE HEADQUARTERS AND AIR BASE SQUADRON. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A CORPORAL ON AUGUST 23, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS.
