He was a Buck Sergeant on D-Day, Company F, 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division. Elevated to Platoon Sergeant on D-Day. Received Battle Field Commission on August 21, 1944 and was killed in action on September 24, 1944 by a land mine.
