SELECTED FOR THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF MEDICAL TECHNICIAN 409. DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON MARCH 28, 1944 BOUND FOR THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 1,000 BED 186TH GENERAL HOSPITAL BASED AT FAIRFORD, ENGLAND. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A TECHNICIAN 5TH GRADE ON MARCH 26, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT GRANT.
