LIEUTENANT. HAD BEEN LEADING A 100-MAN PLATOON IN AN ATTEMPT TO PUSH THE GERMANS NORTHWARD. HE WAS SHOT IN THE LEG AND BLED TO DEATH. THE ACTION TOOK PLACE IN FRANCE'S ALSACE REGION AND HE DIED IN DECEMBER 1944.
