ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON MARCH 2, 1945 AT FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE ORDNANCE DEPARTMENT, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC (014). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON AUGUST 26, 1945 BOUND FOR THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. SERVED WITH THE 84TH ORDNANCE DEPOT COMPANY. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION MEDAL (JAPAN). HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A STAFF SERGEANT ON NOVEMBER 27, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT LEWIS, WASHINGTON.
