TECHNICIAN 4TH GRADE, CARPENTER GENERAL. SERVED FROM AUGUST 27, 1943 TO FEBRUARY 18, 1946 WITH 23 MONTHS OF SERVICE IN THE ASIATIC-PACIFIC THEATER. TRAINED IN COMPANY B, 51ST INFANTRY TRAINING BATTALION, 4TH PLATOON; CAMP WOLTERS, TEXAS. SERVED WITH 68TH FIELD HOSPITAL AND PERFORMED A VARIETY OF CARPENTRY TASKS IN CONNECTION WITH CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR OF BUILDINGS. BUILT FRAMES, LAID FLOORS, INSTALLED PARTITIONS, DOORS AND WINDOWS AND ERECTED FORMS AND SCAFFOLDS. MADE PACKING CASES AND SPECIAL CONTAINERS FOR SHIPPING MATERIAL. ALSO SERVED AS A BUGLER FOR A TIME. AWARDED GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC THEATER MEDAL WITH A BRONZE SERVICE STAR FOR A CAMPAIGN IN RYUKYUS, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND RIFLE MARKSMAN BADGE.
