ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON MAY 18, 1944 AT FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE AIR CORPS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF MOTION PICTURES PROJECTIONIST (137). ALSO COMPLETED RADIO OPERATOR AND FIELD TELETYPE SERVICE SCHOOLS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED STATESIDE WITH THE 331ST ARMY AIR FORCE BASE UNIT AT BARKSDALE FIELD, LOUISIANA, A COMBAT CREW TRAINING SCHOOL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE FIRST CLASS ON SEPTEMBER 10, 1945 AT FORT SHERIDAN. EARED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
