DEPARTED THE U.S. ON MAY 18, 1946 BOUND FOR THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 970TH COMBAT INFORMATION CENTER DETACHMENT, U.S. FORCES IN THE EUROPEAN THEATER AND PARTICIPATED IN THE OCCUPATION OF GERMANY. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE FIRST CLASS ON AUGUST 6, 1946 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION MEDAL (GERMANY).
