ENLISTED FOR THE DURATION ON APRIL 24, 1944 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AND TRAINED IN THE SPECIAL MILITARY QUALIFICATION OF MOTOR TRANSPORT. SERVED OVERSEAS IN THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS FROM SEPTEMBER 12, 1944 THROUGH NOVEMBER 24, 1945. PARTICIPATED IN ACTION AGAINST THE ENEMY AT OKINAWA, RYUKYUS ISLANDS FROM APRIL 1, 1945 THROUGH JUNE 21, 1945. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE BATTLE STAR AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE ON DECEMBER 16, 1945 AT THE MARINE SEPARATION CENTER, NAVAL TRAINING CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS.
