ENLISTED AND ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS AN APPRENTICE SEAMAN ON JUNE 4, 1946. COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED ABOARD, IN TURN, THE FULTON CLASS SUBMARINE TENDER USS BUSHNELL AS-15 AND THE BALAO CLASS SUBMARINE USS STERLET SS-392. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS AN ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN SEAMAN ON APRIL 3, 1948 AT NAVAL RECEIVING STATION, SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
