ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE ON NOVEMBER 15, 1944. COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS AND ADVANCED TRAINING AT AMPHIBIOUS TRAINING BASE, FORT PIERCE, FLORIDA AND NAVAL TRAINING STATION, NEWPORT NEWS, RHODE ISLAND. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED ABOARD THE ARTEMIS CLASS ATTACK CARGO SHIP USS ZENOBIA AKA-52 IN THE AMERICAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A COXSWAIN ON JUNE 19, 1946 AT THE NAVAL PERSONNEL SEPARATION CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
