WORKED AS A CIVILIAN MAILMAN-CLERK FOR THE POTOMAC RIVER NAVAL COMMAND FROM JUNE 1941 TO SEPTEMBER 3, 1943 ON WHICH DATE HE ENLISTED AND ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AT THE NAVY YARD RECEIVING STATION, WASHINGTON, D.C. CONTINUED HIS MAILMAN DUTIES, SAME STATION, FOR THE DURATION. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A MAILMAN FIRST CLASS ON NOVEMBER 8, 1945 AT THE NAVAL PERSONAL SEPARATION CENTER, BAINBRIDGE, MARYLAND. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
