ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON SEPTEMBER 28, 1942 AT DENVER, COLORADO. SELECTED FOR THE AIR CORPS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF SUPPLY CLERK (835). DEPARTED THE U.S. ON JUNE 7, 1945 BOUND FOR THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS ELSEWHERE IN THE AMERICAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 538TH BASE HEADQUARTER AND AIR BASE SQUADRON AS PART OF THE U.S. GARRISON ON SEYMOUR ISLAND. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE FIRST CLASS ON OCTOBER 22, 1945 AT THE SEPARATION CENTER, FORT LOGAN, COLORADO. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
