ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON JANUARY 18, 1944 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF BARBER (022). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON JULY 19, 1944 BOUND FOR THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 103RD GENERAL HOSPITAL AT LUDGERSHALL, ENGLAND, UNITED KINGDOM. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE FIRST CLASS ON NOVEMBER 17, 1945 AT THE SEPARATION POINT, CAMP SIBERT, ALABAMA. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
