ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE ON JUNE 15, 1946. COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS. DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. BOUND FOR GUAM IN THE MARSHALL ISLANDS, WHERE HE SERVED AS A SEABEE WITH THE 103RD NAVAL CONSTRUCTION BATTALION. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A MACHINIST’S MATE THIRD CLASS ON APRIL 5, 1948 AT NAVAL RECEIVING STATION, SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
