COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS, AND DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED ABOARD THE CARGO SHIP USS MENKAR AK-123, THE NON-SELF PROPELLED BARRACKS SHIP USS APL 41, AND THE SELF-PROPELLED DISTRICT GASOLINE BARGE USS YOG-41. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A COXSWAIN ON APRIL 19, 1946 AT THE NAVAL PERSONNEL SEPARATION CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION MEDAL.
