COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS. SERVED ABOARD AND/OR ASSIGNED TO THE ATTACK TRANSPORT USS BARNWELL APA-132; THE ATTACK TRANSPORT USS GRIMES APA-172; AND COMMANDER SUB GROUP ONE, NORFOLK GROUP, LANTRESFLT (ATLANTIC RESERVE FLEET). HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A SEAMAN ON NOVEMBER 23, 1948 AT NORFOLK, VIRGINIA. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
