Killed in action during Cabanatuan raid to rescue 511 Prisoners of War from Japanese January 31, 1945 Luzon. A medical doctor, he served with the Ranger Assault Troops to be immediately available to treat any of the Prisoners expected to be in need of medical assistance. His story is told in the book, 'Ghost Soldier'.
