RADIOMAN IN COMPANY 'B', 383RD REGIMENT, 96TH INFANTRY DIVISION. LANDED IN FIRST ASSAULT WAVE OF LEYTE, PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, AND OKINAWA CAMPAIGNS. WOUNDED ON OKINAWA APRIL 2, 1945, RETURNED TO COMPANY 'B' AND SERVED UNTIL END OF WAR. PROMOTED TO SUPPLY SERGEANT AFTER OKINAWA CAMPAIGN. AWARDED BRONZE STAR MEDAL, PURPLE HEART MEDAL, COMBAT INFANTRYMAN'S BADGE, PHILIPPINE LIBERATION MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC SERVICE MEDAL, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND PRESIDENTIAL UNIT CITATION RIBBON. DISCHARGED FEBRUARY 8, 1946.
