Activity During WWII

He was called to active duty on August 28, 1941 under Special Orders #176 dated August 3, 1941 as 3rd Lieutenant, Infantry, ASN-0-33432, Armed Forces of the Philippines and was assigned to the 33rd Infantry Regiment, 31st Division, USAFFE under General Eugene Blummel. He fought the war between December 7, 1941 to April 9, 1942 when Bataan fell. He was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant on March 27,1942 in Bataan. He was part of the Death March and he was prisoner of war from April 10 – September 21, 1942 at Camp O' Donnell in Capas, Tarlac. After his release from the concentration camp, he went under Missing Status and joined the Northern Luzon Guerilla under Colonel Volkmann. He returned to active military service on April 1, 1945 at Camp Murphy in Quezon City and was assigned to the Processing Team # 8 under Lieutenant Bell and Captain Hunter, until June 15, 1946. He was honorably discharged on June 16, 1946 under Special Orders #148.
