Butler Class Destroyer Escort USS Raymond DE-341 and with Commander Destroyers, Pacific (COMDESPAC). Earned the Presidential Unit Citation with 1 Star, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Battle Stars, WWII Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal with 1 Bronze Battle Star. Honorably discharged as a Fireman First Class on March 7, 1946 at the Naval Personnel Separation Center, USN Base Treasure Island, San Pedro, California."
