DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON MAY 1, 1945 BOUND FOR THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH SERVICE COMPANY, 47TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 9TH ‘HITLER’S NEMESIS’ INFANTRY DIVISION, DURING THE OCCUPATION OF GERMANY. EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, WWII VICTORY MEDAL, AND THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION MEDAL (GERMAN).
