COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING STATION GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS, AND ATTENDED 33 WEEKS OF SERVICE SCHOOLS AT NAVAL TRAINING SCHOOL DEARBORN, MICHIGAN, AMMUNITION TRAINING SCHOOL TREASURE ISLAND, CALIFORNIA, AND NAVAL NET TRAINING SCHOOL TIBURON, CALIFORNIA. THEREAFTER, ASSIGNED IN TURN TO NAVAL TRAINING AND DISTRIBUTION CENTER SHOEMAKER, CALIFORNIA, SRB 3864 (MANACANI ISLAND, LEYTE GULF, PHILIPPINE ISLANDS), AND PU 3205 (MANUS ISLAND, ADMIRALTY ISLANDS). EARNED THE PRESIDENTIAL UNIT CITATION, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL WITH 1 BRONZE BATTLE STAR, WWII VICTORY MEDAL, AND THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A SEAMAN FIRST CLASS ON DECEMBER 16, 1945 AT THE NAVAL PERSONNEL SEPARATION CENTER GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS.
