TECHNICAL SERGEANT. SERVED IN THE ALEUTIAN ISLANDS, EASTERN MANDATES, AND SOUTHERN PACIFIC WITH THE ARMY SIGNAL CORPS, SEVENTH DIVISION. HE RECEIVED THE PHILIPPINE LIBERATION RIBBON WITH TWO BRONZE STARS, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL, AND THE ASIATIC PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL. HE WAS AWARDED THE BRONZE STAR FOR SERVICE ON LEYTE ISLAND OCTOBER 20 THROUGH DECEMBER 25, 1944. 'AS ASSISTANT CHIEF OF THE TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH SECTION AND CHIEF OF THE TELETYPEWRITER SECTION, HE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIGH STANDARDS OF COMMUNICATION BETWEEN DIVISION AND HEADQUARTERS. AS WIRE CHIEF, HIS KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILL ENABLED LINEMEN TO LOCATE AND REPAIR CIRCUIT TROUBLE WITH SPEED AND ALACRITY. HIS DILIGENT EFFORTS, TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND COMPLETE DEVOTION TO DUTY AIDED MATERIALLY IN THE SUCCESS OF THE DIVISION EFFORT AGAINST THE ENEMY, AND REFLECTED GREAT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND THE MILITARY SERVICE.'
