COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING STATION GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS, AND ATTENDED THE SERVICE SCHOOL AT NAVAL TRAINING STATION COLUMBIA, MISSOURI. SERVED IN TURN AT RECEIVING STATION SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA; NAVY 128 (PEARL HARBOR, OAHU, TERRITORY OF HAWAII); SUBMARINE BASE (REPAIR UNIT ‘AFIRM’); AND NAVY WEATHER CENTRAL. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A MOTOR MACHINIST’S MATE FIRST CLASS ON OCTOBER 17, 1945 AT THE NAVAL RESERVE ARMORY, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
