ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON AUGUST 5, 1945. COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING STATION, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE SEABEES AND ASSIGNED IN TURN TO CONSTRUCTION BATTALION REPLACEMENT DEPOT, CAMP PARKS, SHOEMAKER, CALIFORNIA; ADVANCE BASE RECEIVING BARRACKS, U.S. NAVAL BASE, PORT HUENEME, CALIFORNIA; AND CONSTRUCTION BATTALION DETACHMENT 1108, 20TH U.S. NAVY CONSTRUCTION REGIMENT. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A SEAMAN FIRST CLASS ON AUGUST 10, 1946 AT THE NAVAL PERSONNEL SEPARATION CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL BY VIRTUE OF HIS SERVICE DURING THE ELIGIBILITY PERIOD.
