COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL RECEIVING BARRACKS, SHOEMAKER, CALIFORNIA, AND SERVED ABOARD THE FAST MINESWEEPER USS HOPKINS DMS-13, RUNNING THE SHIP’S SERVICE STORES. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A SEAMAN FIRST CLASS ON NOVEMBER 6, 1945 AT THE NAVAL PERSONNEL SEPARATION CENTER, SHOEMAKER, CALIFORNIA.
