COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS, AND FURTHER QUALIFICATION AT AMPHIBIOUS TRAINING BASE, LITTLE CREEK, VIRGINIA. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED ABOARD THE LANDING SHIP, MEDIUM (ROCKET) USS LSM (R) 524. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A SIGNALMAN THIRD CLASS ON APRIL 22, 1946 AT THE PERSONNEL SEPARATION CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS.
