ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON MARCH 4TH, 1943 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE AIR CORPS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF MILITARY POLICEMAN (677). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON JANUARY 2, 1944 BOUND FOR HONOLULU, HAWAII TERRITORY. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH THE 1244TH MILITARY POLICE COMPANY (AVIATION). EARNED THE GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A CORPORAL ON NOVEMBER 21 AT THE ARMY AIR FORCES SEPARATION CENTER, SANTA ANNA, CALIFORNIA.
