ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON MAY 1, 1946 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. SELECTED FOR THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF BASIC SOLDIER (521). ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED STATESIDE WITH COMPANY B, 17TH ARMORED ENGINEER BATTALION. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A PRIVATE FIRST CLASS ON APRIL 10, 1947 AT THE SEPARATION STATION, FORT HOOD, TEXAS. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEAL FOR HIS SERVICE DURING THE PERIOD OF ELIGIBILITY.
