ENLISTED AND ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICED ON JULY 8, 1946 AT SCOT FIELD, ILLINOIS. COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF SAXOPHONE BANDSMAN (7439). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON NOVEMBER 8, 1946 BOUND FOR THE PACIFIC THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH BAND 11 AB DIVISION, ADJUTANT GENERAL’S DEPARTMENT, ENGAGED IN THE OCCUPATION OF JAPAN. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A TECHNICIAN FIFTH GRADE ON NOVEMBER 10, 1947 AT FORT LAWTON, WASHINGTON. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION MEDAL (JAPAN).
