ENLISTED AND ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE ON MARCH 29, 1946 AT EAST SAINT LOUIS, ILLINOIS. COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC (014). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL U.S. ON JULY 13, 1946 BOUND FOR THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH TROOP A, 22ND CONSTABULARY SQUADRON ENGAGED IN THE OCCUPATION OF GERMANY. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A CORPORAL, GRADE FOUR, ON FEBRUARY 8, 1949. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION MEDAL (GERMANY).
