SELECTED FOR THE FIELD ARTILLERY, COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF LIGHT TRUCK DRIVER (345). ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED WITH BATTERY C, 789TH FIELD ARTILLERY BATTALION, AT FORT LEONARD WOOD, MISSOURI. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AT THE CONVENIENCE OF THE GOVERNMENT AS A PRIVATE FIRST CLASS, IN FAIR HEALTH, ON OCTOBER 13, 1944 AT FORT SHERIDAN, ILLINOIS. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
