ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE AS A DRAFTEE ON OCTOBER 14, 1942 AT CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF ARTILLERY AMMUNITION HANDLER. DEVELOPED A CONDITION REQUIRING ADMITTANCE TO THE SERVICE COMMAND, UNIT 1911, STATION HOSPITAL AS UNASSIGNED. HONORABLY DISCHARGED WITH A CERTIFICATE OF DISABILITY AS A PRIVATE ON SEPTEMBER 10, 1943 AT CAMP ADAIR, OREGON. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL FOR HIS SERVICE DURING THE PERIOD OF ELIGIBILITY.
