COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING, QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF HEAVY TRUCK DRIVER (931), AND ASSIGNED TO THE 251ST ENGINEER COMBAT BATTALION, CAMP MCCOY, WISCONSIN. TRANSFERRED ON OCTOBER 29, 1943 TO HEADQUARTERS COMPANY, 1620TH SERVICE COMMAND UNIT, SAME STATION, TO MUSTER OUT. HONORABLY DISCHARGED WITH A CERTIFICATE OF DISABILITY AS A PRIVATE ON NOVEMBER 8, 1943. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
