ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE ON JANUARY 23, 1945 AT THE NAVAL RECRUITING STATION, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS. COMPLETED BOOT CAMP AT NAVAL TRAINING CENTER, GREAT LAKES, ILLINOIS, AND FIRST STATIONED AND THE NAVAL TRAINING AND DISTRIBUTION CENTER, CAMP SHOEMAKER, CALIFORNIA. RE-ASSIGNED TO RECEIVING STATION NAVY 3149 (SAMAR ISLAND, PHILIPPINE ISLANDS). ASSIGNED TO AND SERVED ABOARD THE CRANE SHIP USS DOBBIN AD-3, HIS MAJESTY’S SHIP OXFORDSHIRE, AND USS DOBBIN AGAIN. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A SEAMAN FIRST CLASS ON JANUARY 22, 1946 AT U.S. NAVAL HOSPITAL, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA. EARNED THE AMERICAN CAMPAIGN MEDAL, ASIATIC-PACIFIC CAMPAIGN MEDAL, AND THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL.
