Activity During WWII

He served from August 8, 1941 to November 6, 1945, first in the 198th Coast Artillery in the south pacific and then in the 713th Engineering Depot Company in England. He earned the following medals: American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. While in the South Pacific Paul caught malaria. While in England he caught Kathleen Corcoran who was born and raised in Cork, Ireland then worked in Cambridge during the war. They were married in Maria Stein, Ohio on October 15, 1946 and raised eight children on the farm where Paul was born and raised. Those eight children are forever grateful for the sacrifices Paul and Kathleen made during the war to keep the world safe and after the war to provide a loving home.
