ENLISTED IN THE SIGNAL CORPS AND ENTERED ACTIVE SERVICE ON JUNE 1, 1946 AT EAST SAINT LOUIS, ILLINOIS. COMPLETED BASIC TRAINING AND QUALIFIED IN THE MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY OF REPEATERMAN (182). DEPARTED THE CONTINENTAL US ON SEPTEMBER 13, 1946 BOUND FOR THE EUROPEAN THEATER OF OPERATIONS. ASSIGNED TO AND WAS SERVING WITH THE 7822 SERVICE COMMAND UNIT AT END OF DUTY TOUR. HONORABLY DISCHARGED AS A TECHNICIAN FOURTH GRADE ON APRIL 13, 1949 AT CAMP KILMER, NEW JERSEY. EARNED THE WWII VICTORY MEDAL AND THE ARMY OF OCCUPATION MEDAL (GERMANY).
